The philosophy of ART - INIGO BOCKEN
What is the meaning the importance of art in our live and culture? A very special approach on art in the philosophical sense.
A lecture presented to you by a renown philosopher. A presentation not to be missed by people who think about ART, MAN and COMMUNITY.

About Faces - JAN GIELEN
This presentation deals with science and art of human faces and body. Physionomy and face recognition are closely linked. Despite the fact that all humans share the same facial components recognition of a particular face is a matter of seconds. Small physionomic changes may make a face not to be recognized. Emotions are expressed by muscular action and skin coloration; small changes may express dramatic different emotional states. Face and body architecture may be simplified to elementary lines and shapes. Basic knowledge of this science is very useful for artists to hide emotions in their work that will unravel feelings in their audience.

The Honeycomb Mould: A Revolutionary Casting Option
by Helen Stokes (AUS)
“The honeycomb mould is lighter and stronger than a block mould and enables intricate glass forms to be cast successfully without sprues.”
Helen will demonstrate her honeycomb mould and give lectures combined with power point presentations to show how she developed the technique and explain in detail how the mould is made. Her quest to cast forms that are difficult in a block mould and the hurdles that were overcome tell of an interesting and fruitful journey.
The purpose of this presentation is to inform and assist glass practitioners to understand more about casting and how the honeycomb mould may be used to their advantage.
Helen has many interesting theories on the topic of casting and likes nothing better than to have an in depth discussion on the subject, so come prepared with lots of questions!
